The IMB advises that the two batches of Menjugate Kit being recalled in the UK have NOT been marketed in Ireland
Notice type:
Advisory
Date:
26/02/2009
Product name or type:
Menjugate Kit, PA 919/4/2
Active Substance:
Neisseria meningitidis
Group C (Strain C11) Oligosaccharide Conjugate
Problem Or Issue:
The Irish Medicines Board (IMB) wishes to advise that the recall of two batches of Menjugate Kit (Batch No. 235012A and Batch No. 236011) in the UK does not concern any units of Menjugate Kit which have been distributed on the Irish market.
These two batches of Menjugate Kit are being recalled from the UK market as a precautionary measure, following the identification of a sterility assurance issue with units of the aluminium hydroxide solvent (Batch No. 088902), during a shipping validation study.
Units from the two affected batches of Menjugate Kit (Batch No. 235012A and Batch No. 236011), which were first distributed in the UK in January 2009, have not been distributed on the Irish market. In addition, the affected solvent batch (Batch No. 088902) has not been included in any packs of Menjugate Kit marketed in Ireland.
