HPD Inspections Manager (Acting), Health Products Distribution - Compliance

Reporting to the Health Products Distribution (HPD) Manager, the role of the HPD Inspections Manager is to proactively assist the HPD Manager in managing the HPD inspection activities, the management of the controlled drugs area, which includes precursor chemicals, and the related staff. This includes ensuring that risk based approaches are maintained and further developed for inspection activities to optimise protection of public health in these areas.

The HPD Inspections Manager manages the overall performance of the inspection group and the controlled drug areas by defining objectives, setting targets, coordinating activities, agreeing priorities, developing team members, maintaining effective communication lines; and ensuring that the required standards, policies and practices are in place and consistently applied. The inspection areas include medical device distribution, wholesale distribution and brokering of medicinal products, active substance importation and distribution, controlled drug operators, precursor chemical operators and cosmetic manufacture and distribution.

The HPD Inspections Manager is required to deputise for the HPD manager during their absence and provides leadership, motivation, encouragement and effective management to inspection and controlled drug staff and ensures the maintenance of a positive working environment.
