Medical Devices Assessor, Devices Technical Assessment - Medical Devices

The Medical Devices Assessor will work as part of the Devices Technical Assessment section in the Medical Devices department to assess the technical/engineering aspects of medical devices, in support of the notified body, technical documentation review, market surveillance and associated activities, clinical investigation, classification and registration activities.

The Medical Devices Assessor will work closely and maintain effective working relationships with Medical Devices Vigilance and Compliance to ensure effective co-ordination and co-operation across all areas of assessment, to ensure that assessment issues requiring cross-functional input are effectively investigated and followed up on and to ensure that the objectives of the Medical Devices department are met.

The Medical Devices Assessor will report to the Device Assessment & Surveillance Manager. In addition the Medical Devices Assessor will work closely with other senior managers and the Deputy Director within the Medical Devices section to achieve HPRA objectives relating to medical devices.

A number of projects are underway within the Medical Device Department to review and develop our existing structures, activities and systems for medical devices. The Medical Devices Assessor’s work and range of activities may change over-time. The Assessor will need to be adaptable, flexible and able to participate and assist in change initiatives.
