Labelling

Cosmetic product packaging is required to display the following information in the English or Irish language:

• European address

• Weight or volume

• Expiry date or period-after-opening symbol

• Precautions of use

• Batch number or reference id

• Product function

• List of ingredients

In the case of soap, bath ball or any other small product where it is not possible to list the ingredients, this information should appear on a notice immediately beside the product.

The period-after-opening symbol is a graphical symbol that identifies the useful lifetime of a cosmetic product after its package has been opened for the first time. It depicts an open cosmetics pot and is used together with a written number of months or years
