NCPA 3Rs training event

On 22 September 2022, the National Committee for the protection of animals used for scientific purposes held a training event aimed towards researchers, animal care staff, designated veterinarians, animal welfare bodies, and members of ethics committees.

The key objectives of the event were to:

  • promote an understanding of the principles of good experimental design
  • provide advice and examples on the practical application of the 3Rs
  • inform delegates about severity frameworks and the use of score sheets to improve welfare and science

The event also provided an opportunity to address questions from delegates and to participate in species-specific workshops.

Recordings of the training sessions are available to view below.
